Some military leader thumbs here. This guy is the leader of the small military faction on pursuit to neutralize the mercenaries and retrieve stolen prototype weaponry. I'm pushing for an all around warhorse who's weathered and experienced, much like Miles Quaritch from Avatar...but with much less cheese (although he was one of my favorite characters in that film). He's well rounded in many forms of combat tactics, and has an extremely volatile personality which make him all the more lethal. The rest of his hand picked crew trained under him extensively and some even share similar personality traits.

This is the twin brother of the Japanese assassin. He's just as skilled as his sister and just as insane. I copied some of the thumbnails and added a few minor detail changes to switch up the gear such as Katana blades, daggers, sub-machine pistols and handguns. He along with his sister use a wide variety of close-quarter weapons which are small, easy to conceal, and easy to maneuver.

Here is a character that I've had fun coming up with. She is a Japanese assassin who is one of the many characters employed to steal U.S. Military prototype weaponry in my story. She handles her many jobs with strict precision and has insane agility and all around fighting skills. She is very well known and feared in many underground circles of crime, but has a lust for killing that can only be matched by her twin brother and partner in crime. Spoiler Alert: The transformation sequence posted earlier in the blog is her. Haven't come up with any names yet...workin on that.

A few of them started to look slightly more mercenary, which is fine because in the story they all have more than a little dirt, or shall I say blood on their hands. Here's a quick sketch I did for fun while watching my roommates play Left 4 Dead. It's inspired by the "Boomer" and the "Tank" mutants, and I thought it would be cool to combine the two and name it the "Boomertank". The bulbous sacks on the shoulders are filled with bile that explode and blind you while the hordes of zombies finish off what's left of your broken body.

This is a thesis development sketch for the lower class of vampire, or "bottom feeders" as I like to call them. Their legs are reverse jointed, which explains why the left leg is so weird looking.

These are a few sketches of a smaller secondary creature and its parts such as the eye, breathing sack and poison sack. I was influenced by a combination of octopus and squid, and wanted to try and make it menacing, yet exotic. I'm currently pushing for a more menacing overall design.

These are a few eye designs for the vampires. The vampires, along with the large scale creatures and the smaller secondary ones will more or less share these features as far as eyes go. Placement of the eyes on the secondary creatures will vary, as well as how many they have.

Here are a few more early design sketches for the large scale sea creature vessels. The idea is that these large scale monsters will be grafted to the bottom of old ships. They will be disguised as abandoned or wrecked ships to lure in scavengers.
